Naperville Little League / White Sox Partnership
Naperville Little League is proud to announce a new partnership program with the MLB Chicago White Sox. This partnership will allow NLLB to improve player safety, provide professional baseball skills training to all coaches and players, provide character-building skills to our coaches, and permit more teams to play under the lights.
The MLB Chicago White Sox have graciously agreed to donate new upgraded jerseys and hats to all Naperville Little League players in 2015. This includes equipping player's uniforms for the regular season, the summer tournament and fall ball. The new NLLB jerseys will carry the White Sox logo.
This uniform donation saves a considerable amount of money and therefore allows NLLB to redirect funds to better serve our member families in the following ways:
Safety - With today’s heightened concerns of concussions in youth sports, NLLB plans to further invest in player safety in order to help lessen the chances of concussions and other sports-related injuries. The partnership will permit the purchase and distribution of new and improved batting helmets for all teams at all age levels in 2015.
Skills Training - Coach and player instruction is critical for both learn and enjoy the game. The partnership will allow NLLB to provide professional on-field skills and drills training to every team in the 2015 season before and during the season. Instructors will be provided by the Bulls/Sox Academy.
Character Building - The partnership will permit coaches to receive training and certification from the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). PCA is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to developing better athletes and providing them with a positive, character-building youth sports experience.
Night Time Fun - The partnership will allow NLLB to host more night games. NLLB pays the park district for lights used in night games. The partnership will allow more NLLB players – particularly players in the younger, non-drafted leagues – to also experience more night games on the five lighted fields that NLLB teams use throughout Naperville.
This partnership marks the largest such relationship of its kind in the state of Illinois.
