UMPIRES
General Information about NLLB Umpiring:
The NLLB umpire program is designed to start umpires off at the Rookie levels (1st and 2nd grade baseball) and allow them to naturally progress to higher levels. Umpires will not be advanced prematurely, regardless of their baseball experience.
You must be 12 years old by August 31, 2024 to umpire for Naperville Little League Baseball (NLLB). Adults (post college) are welcome to umpire, but only have the option of getting paid at our junior level.
If you have any questions regarding umpiring for NLLB, please contact Ginny McCormack at vmccormack@nllb.org.
If you are ready to get started, please follow all the steps below:
STEP 1: REGISTRATION
ALL UMPIRES: To create a NLLB umpire profile and start the registration for the 2024 baseball season click here.
This step must be completed even if you umpired last year!
Please provide current contact information for your umpire. This must include the umpire's mobile phone and email address. These are used for game opportunities and important communications. We require a current mailing address for payroll.
NLLB uses text messages and emails for urgent communications and game reminders. Umpires and parents please be sure to opt into these communications. If you are younger than 18, please proceed to STEP 2: TRAINING.
If you will be 18 years or older prior to October 31, 2024, click here. This will register you as a NLLB volunteer. Note, you will not be able to register as a volunteer until you are 18 years of age. Please follow all instructions on the volunteer page. Anyone 18 years and older participating in our league as a volunteer or an umpire is required by Little League International to perform this step, to initiate your background check.
STEP 2: TRAINING
All NLLB umpires will be required to attend training. ALL umpires must attend appropriate level of training in order to be eligible to umpire in NLLB.
