Volunteer Opportunities

Parent Volunteers Needed
The best way to provide a quality Little League experience for all players, coaches, and families is to have an active and engaged volunteer community. An engaged network of volunteers helps to improve all facets of the program and can provide a great degree of satisfaction to the volunteers themselves.

We all know and thank the hundreds of coaches that teach our kids the game, but NLLB is also looking for volunteers in non-coaching capacities as well. If you would like to join the fun and be part of our volunteer family, please contact Larry Lucas at 630/420-9020 or email at llucas@NLLB.org.

We are actively seeking:

Parents Auxiliary - The Parent Auxiliary will be a vital role to the Naperville Little League Program. Auxiliary has been started to help run tryouts, training clinics and our Spring Jamboree as well as plan social events for the NLLB. The Auxiliary will help oversee all aspects of pictures, team parent coordination, opening day / closing day ceremonies, and work with the MLB White Sox to assist in any player of the week activities .

The Following assistants are needed to help in Parents Auxiliary
  • Fundraising - Recommend to the board the type of fund raiser (candy sales and/or donations to help offset the expenses required to plan NLLB Social Activities including Opening and Closing Day Festivities) with approval of board. Coordinate with the various fund raising companies, manage all orders and distribution. Collect all monies raised and reports to Auxiliary Director.
  • Pictures – Responsible to take pictures for use on our website, newsetters, social media or other promotional including use at the White Sox games to honor our Player of the Week
  • Tryout and other Training Clinics – The volunteer coordinator reports directly to the President, Player Agent and Auxiliary Director. Coordinate the parent volunteers to assist in League Activities
  • Team Parent Coordinator – Recruit "Team Parents" or "Team Mom's" for each regular season team and post season Tournament Team and act as a liaison between these teams and the Board of Directors. Disseminate information from the Board to the Team Parents; keeping them updated on all league events as well as Opening and Closing Day schedules.
  • Opening and Closing Day Chair - Coordinates all activities required for the Opening Day Ceremony. This is an important position but the work is done once the games actually start! Secure and coordinate with vendors necessary for post opening day activities.

Player Agents - The player agents will assist at the Supreme and Majors tryouts as well as checking birth records and eligibility of players.  They will help maintain a list of players to use as call ups in case a team is unable to field a team for a specific game.  They will also help oversee individual divisions within the league. The player agent must not manage, coach or umpire in the division over which he/she has authority.

Adult Umpires - Aside from calling ball or strike, safe or out, umpires are responsible for teaching players good sportsmanship and the rules of the game. Umpires are also called upon to interpret rules and help settle minor disputes that may occur during games. Although adult umpires can not be paid, if you agree to umpire ten games NLLB will provide umpire gear for you to keep. See our web page For Umpires. NLLB offers training to all umpires.

To register as an adult volunteer go to the "Coaches and Volunteers" tab and follow the instructions.

Reminder, for our player's safety, all volunteers 18 and older must agree and will be subjected to a background check.
